Transporting the DW 718 mitre saw

In order to conveniently carry the DW 718 mitre saw a carrying handle has been included on the top of the saw arm.

To transport the saw, lower the head and depress the lock down pin. Lock the rail lock knob with the saw head in the front position, lock the mitre arm in the upper right mitre angle, slide the fence completely inward and lock the bevel lever with the saw head in the vertical position to make the tool as compact as possible.

Always use the carrying handle or the hand indentations on the saw body to transport the saw.

Maintenance of the DW718

The DW 718 mitre saw has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.

Always ensure that the ventilation slots are clear and regularly clean the housing with a soft cloth. It is important to regularly clean the table top and dust collection system. Don’t use of cleaners or any sort of lubricants to maintain the tool. Aerosol and spray cleaners may damage the plastic lower guard.

The DW718 mitre saw requires no additional lubrication.
